Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold; the new has come.
Where do you begin when you have stored up words for over a year?
Hi friends! I am back to my blog and ready to go! But I do have a problem, I don’t know where to begin! The last year has been a time of tremendous growth and change for me. My life has basically flipped upside down from where I was this time last year. Change has definitely been good for this girl.
As I enter into my Junior year of college (saying that gives me chills by the way), I am both excited and nervous to see what this year brings. For so long I have obsessed about the future, about tasks, and about who I will become. Here’s what I’ve learned from a year so filled with change: God’s got it under control. It’s the little things and the big things that prove this promise to be true. For so long I fought for control over my life. I ignored blatant callings and followed paths that lead to places I thought were better than what He had for me. Fair to say those paths didn’t lead me where I thought they would.
There are few moments in life that you feel in your gut that something is for you. There are even fewer moments when you feel that something is from God. Now it’s not because He’s not there guiding our every decision. But what I’ve learned is that it’s because we don’t listen. We don’t judge our decisions on his criteria. We don’t understand that we were created with specific passions and skills to work for Him. Therefore we miss the lessons, miss the callings, and miss the opportunities to find our greatest peace and happiness. I’m over missing out on the life that I know I can have.
So here I am. I’m a pre-law junior trying to become a voice for the oppressed. I’m a Kappa Kappa Gamma trying to show girls their true worth through sisterhood. I’m a disciple of Christ trying to lead a life worthy of the calling I have received. And I am a southern girl just trying to be sweeter, love more, and lead better than I have before.
It’s fun to start over! Sometimes it takes a year to do so, but there’s always a time and place to begin again. Life is fun, exciting, and I can’t wait to share parts of mine with y’all as I navigate a whole new year full of adventures.
