I am in the search for the perfect weekend bag. As someone who travels often
(small trips that are a little unexciting), I can definitely appreciate a cute duffle. The search has become more urgent as I get closer to August. I have a few trips coming up and I am ready to make the plunge and order one of these perfect weekend bags! I’m also sharing a few of my travel tips for weekend getaways!
One // Write Down Your Itinerary
Before you begin packing, write out where you’ll be spending your time. Identify the types of things that you’ll need for every situation. Determine if you’ll need causal clothes, clothes for going to dinner, or something outdoorsy.
Two // Look Up the Weather
Once it starts getting closer to your weekend away, look up the weather for your trip. Pay attention to the likelihood of rain and the highs or lows. This can direct your packing so that you’re prepared for whatever the comes your way!
Three // Pack Outfits Instead of Individual Pieces
Instead of grabbing 3 shirts, 3 shorts, and 3 pants, you should be packing 3 full outfits. I suggest packing your clothing as full looks with accessories and undergarments pre-selected. This will save on room and will make sure that you can simply grab an outfit instead of spending time putting individual items together.
Four // Pack for Specific Days
Take the outfits you love and pair them with days and activities. This is the time to really identify what you will need vs. what outfits you just want to wear. There’s no point bringing your adorable new romper if you’re going to be spending the majority of your weekend outside.
Five // Write + Lay it Out
As you begin to pack I highly encourage you to lay everything out where you can really see what you are bringing. As you refine your list, make sure to write it down! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost forgotten something and been saved my the list!
Pro Tip: It’s okay to overpack as long as you’re responsible for yourself and your things.
Which bag would you choose? What do you bring on weekends away?
